Mirbaba Mirashrap-ogly Seidov, deputy editor of the Polessky vestnik district newspaper, was found dead in an abandoned farm near the town of Polessk on 28 August 1998. He had been repeatedly stabbed.
The investigators considered that the killing had occurred during a robbery since the journalist’s car had been taken. It was found on 28 August and suspects were detained.
Seidov had worked for the newspaper in the Kaliningrad Region for ten years and was a member of the Russian Union of Journalists.
