On 11 November 1995 Victor Litvinov, a commentator with Golos Rossii radio station, was attacked by unknown assailants on his way home. The assault took place, it is presumed, near the Prospect Vernadskogo metro station. Litvinov managed to get home and was then taken by ambulance to hospital. He died of internal bleeding the following morning.
His attackers stole his bag, money and wristwatch and attempted to remove his coat. The journalist’s colleagues exclude any political or other motives linked to Litvinov’s work as a journalist.
